CHILLER MAJOR COMPONENTS OF CHILLER
CONDENSER
The normal function of the Condenser is to transform Superheated discharged gas from the Compressor to a slightly sub-cooled fluid flow by transferring heat from the refrigerant gas to the secondary cooling medium.
The most common secondary cooling medium are air and water.
CONDENSERS TYPES
1.Air cooled Condensers
Super heated Refrigerant Inside the tubes of the Condenser Coils are cooled and Condenser by the surrounding or Ambient air with the use of Condenser fans.
Air cooled Condenser
2.Water Cooled Condenser
Super heated Refrigerant enters the shell of the Condenser which is cooled and Condensed by the water flowing inside the tubes.Cooling water can come(pumped) from Either a cooling Tower,City water or sea water.
Expansion Valve
Expansion Valve Controls the quality of liquid refrigerant entering the evaporator☆It ensures that the refrigerant will be completely vaporized with in the evaporator and maintains the proper amount of super heat in the system
SHELL AND TUBE EVAPORATORS
EVAPORATOR TYPES 1.Direct Expansion 2.Flooded Coolers
A shell and tube evaporator is used to produced Chilled water. In this type of evaporator,The cool liquid refrigerant flows through the tubes and water fills the shell space surrounding the tubes. As heat is tubes and the resulting vaporized is drawn to the Compressor.water enters the shell at one end and leaves at the opposite end.
